The God Who Listens
12:59 AMmarianneejoyceeUp until now, I could not stop thinking about how God works in truly amazing ways and how He perfectly orchestrates circumstances. Last week, we were invited by Pastor Judy of Inspire Church Metro to join the first ever Arise Conference for women here in Manila. I wanted to join but the thing is, I just didn't have enough money for the registration... Then God prompted me, "Pray about it. Pray for someone to sponsor you." And I was like, really Lord? I would not be spending any amount for it but someone else would do so?
And so I did...
This was written last Wednesday afternoon as one of my prayer concerns during my week long Prayer and Fasting. And by faith (since I knew in my heart I could really come), I answered my pop sheets in advance so that I wouldn't be worrying about not having to spend my weekend for study/review. Later in the evening, Ate Valeree (a CCC Staff) called and asked if we (me and the rest of my churchmates) are joining Arise. We told her about our dilemma with finances and to our surprise, she told us she would be paying for the registration. Lord, how quick was your answer! You listen indeed! You spoke to Ate Val that night because I asked you earlier in the afternoon for someone who might be willing to support us. Wow Lord, just wow!
And when we thought it was all there was to the story, yet another miracle story happened. Ate Valeree told us what was really going on in her heart Wednesday night. She actually had no extra money to pay for our registration. But the Lord spoke to her and so in obedience, and by faith, she said "Basta Lord, alam mong wala na akong extra na pera. May byahe pa kami sa Thailand (for the Staff Conference) so may mga dapat pa akong bayaran. Pero sige, dahil gusto mo talaga, hindi na nga lang siguro ako magshashopping sa Thailand." God bless the heart of Ate, such generosity! But then again, if it is God's WILL, it would definitely be His BILL! At 2:00AM of June 27, the day of the conference, Ate Val was still awake (prolly thinking about how to budget her finances and all haha), someone sent her a private message saying that she has five PAID tickets and asking if perhaps Ate Val knows someone who could fill in for those who owned them but could not come. What in the world? Aaaaaaaand that person actually contacted 2 others, at 2:00AM, when only Ate Val was awake. Wow Lord, just wow! My mouth was left speechless (well actually just uttering OMG! many many times) but my heart was in awe of God's amazing faithfulness and provision! I praise God for really allowing us to be there and my next blog post would be about the amazing conference we've been to.
Friends, we have a God who listens and who never gets tired of doing so. He was, He is and He will always be the same God! So take heart and don't hesitate to present your requests to Him. I'm not saying He would answer you the same He did to me, but definitely He will. It may sometimes be not what we expect or even not what we want, but trust me, it would be the best!
